iMac G5 iSight vertical lines on screen

Hello all, I recently acquired an iMac G5 iSight and when I powered it up I noticed that it has about 12 vertical colored lines. I have done some research on it and found out that this model has an LCD panel defect, and that at one point Apple was replacing them. I realize that this computer is 8 years old, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it fixed for a low cost?
